Tokyo-born milliner Maiko Takeda—who's worked for the likes of Phillip Treacy and Stephen Jones—crafts intricately designed, surrealist-inspired headpieces using a variety of textures. Her headdresses are complex and futuristic, resembling the likes of porcupine spikes or fish scales, and are sculpted in an extremely artistic way—she cuts the metals piece by piece and then attaches them to a larger foundation. Below, see some of Takeda's latest creations.
