As Republicans turn his state into a battleground, Florida Gov. Rick Scott is sitting this one out. Scott's spokesman confirmed Monday that he won't be endorsing a Republican candidate for the primary election and urges voters to decide for themselves without his input. Key Florida Republicans Sen. Marco Rubio and former governor Jeb Bush have also decided not to weigh in. The results of the last primary suggest that gubernatorial endorsements may not be that valuable, as Mitt Romney lost South Carolina despite being endorsed by Gov. Nikki Haley.
