Abake Assongba is a major Obama donor, having contributed more than $50,000 to the president’s reelection campaign this year. She’s also been accused of impersonating a bank official and defrauding a businessman and is currently involved in a Florida civil-court case in which she’s accused of stealing $650,000 to build a multimillion-dollar house. The Obama campaign has denied comment on the accusations, but has, in the past, returned contributions from donors later found to have federal charges against them.
