A Taiwanese man survived 60 hours in rough seas despite not knowing how to swim, according to local media reports on Tuesday. Tseng Lien-fa, 42, was discovered on a beach on Sunday, 46 miles from where he was swept away Friday off Hualien County. Doctors said Tseng was dehydrated and had some sores on his arm, but they called his rescue a “miracle” because Tseng had no access to food or fresh water. Tseng told local media that he had hoped to be rescued by a passing ship and began to tread water when he saw lights, but in the end he was carried ashore by the waves.
