This is a bizarre one. A man called Darwin Vela, 22, and his fiancée were arrested Monday on suspicion of burglarizing the home of a former girlfriend of actor Nicolas Cage. The charges come just a week after Vela went missing and claimed to have been abducted. Vela, Kelly McLaren, 24, and one other man are suspected in the August break-in at the home of Christina Fulton. Vela and McLaren were set to testify last week against the third suspect, Ricardo Orozco, when Vela disappeared after taking his dog for a walk. McLaren, Vela’s fiancée, said she found the dog whimpering and with blood on his leash. Vela told investigators he had been abducted and held for three days.
