Tennis star Maria Sharapova’s appeal against a two-year doping ban was postponed until September, meaning she won’t be able to play in the Rio Olympics. Sharapova, who tested positive for the substance meldonium in January, agreed to defer the decision, which otherwise would’ve been issued before next week. Both the Russian athlete’s representatives and the International Tennis Federation reportedly wanted more time to prepare their cases.
