A Marine has died after a fighter jet crashed during a training mission in the California desert. The jet went down on Thursday night about 140 miles outside of Los Angeles, near Twentynine Palms. The pilot has not been identified, but they were from the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar near San Diego. The cause of the crash is still unclear but is under investigation.
