Massive Pharaoh Statue Found in Cairo Slum

A massive ancient statue of what archaeologists believe depicts the pharaoh Ramses II has been unearthed in a Cairo slum and shown to media on Friday. The colossal statue was pulled in pieces from the mud by a bulldozer and is reportedly around 27 feet tall. The discovery was made by a German-Egyptian team in a trash-ridden working class neighborhood of the city that is central to the ancient Egypt’s history.
