Two rival demonstrations are being held in Yemen, one in support of President Ali Abdullah Saleh and the other calling for his immediate ouster. All told, tens of thousands of protesters are marching toward each other, the anti-government protesters from the renamed “Change Square” near the university, and regime loyalists gathering in Tahrir Square a little over a mile away. Talks over Saleh's resignation seem to have hit a snag, with Saleh continuing to promise to resign in 2012 and the opposition continuing to call for his immediate departure. The U.K. Foreign Office has urged British citizens to leave Yemen as soon as possible, warning of a "high possibility of violent demonstrations" today.
