What amendment protects the freedom of tent? Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Monday that while the Constitution protects free speech, it "doesn't protect tents." He went on to say that those celebrating a "right to be silent" may be overshadowed by the protesters. Though the Occupy Wall Street movement has been criticized by conservatives across the country, a survey taken by Quinnipiac University found that a majority of New Yorkers support the group. Some 67 percent of 1,068 registered New York City voters said they agree with Occupy’s views, and 72 percent of voters said that law-abiding protesters can continue demonstrating in the city for as long as they want. Eighty-one percent of Democrats supported the group, while 35 percent of those who voted ‘nay’ were Republicans.
