Senator John McCain expressed concern for isolationism’s growing favor within the Republican Party, particularly among 2012 presidential hopefuls. While attending a campaign forum last Monday, the former Republican nominee was surprised to hear so much opposition toward U.S. military aid in support of the NATO mission in Libya. "There's always been an isolation strain in the Republican Party, that Pat Buchanan (a former Republican presidential contender) wing of our party. McCain, alongside Senator John Kerry, support Obama’s Libya decision, and are drafting a resolution to eliminate any question of the president’s compliance with the War Powers Act.
