When Elisabeth Hasselbeck left daytime talk show The View for a new position on Fox News’s Fox & Friends, rumors spread concerning an adequate replacement. Today, Barbara Walters, co-creator and co-host of the show, confirmed that former Playboy model-turned-actress Jenny McCarthy would be filling Hasselbeck’s role. Having appeared on The View 17 times, McCarthy was a likely candidate for the position. Besides their blonde locks, Hasselbeck and her successor have similar seemingly outrageous and outspoken opinions, engaging and likable personalities, and shared fashion interests—Hasselbeck launched a QVC clothing line in 2009 and has been seen sitting front row at New York Fashion Week; McCarthy has been photographed for her outgoing style on countless red carpets. Here’s a look at some of their similar style choices.

McCarthy opts for a more scandalous version of the classic black-and-white ensemble with short shorts, fishnet stockings, and a sultry red lipstick, while Hasselbeck chooses oversized parachute pants and a white silk tunic.

Hasselbeck wore a strapless blue-and-turquoise dress by Shoshanna; McCarthy chose a tight, one-shouldered bandage dress by Hervé Léger.

McCarthy goes for the gold in a floor-length sequined gown; Hasselbeck chooses to subtly accessorize with gold sequins by wearing an embellished scarf.

Hasselbeck chooses a girly look in a light pink, strapless number embellished with a bow, by Milly (for whom she has sat front row), while McCarthy goes for a sexier tight and bright neon pink dress by Michael Kors.

Hasselbeck shows a little skin in a gray sweater vest and matching maxi-skirt, while McCarthy exposes her bare stomach in a cropped tank, ripped-up skirt, and sky-high Christian Louboutin boots.

McCarthy arrives at the 2008 White House Correspondents' Dinner in a foor-length black gown with a plunging neckline; Hasselbeck accessorizes her black dress with an abundance of jewels and loosely pulled-back hair.

Hasselbeck and McCarthy both go nautical in navy-and-white-striped tops. Hasselbeck is picnic-ready in her red skirt and flower-embellished woven hat; McCarthy dresses up her V-neck with high-waisted pants and wedges.

A black blazer can put the finishing touches on any outfit. McCarthy's conveys high fashion, with sleek lines and overemphasized shoulders, while Hasselbeck's cropped blazer is more soft and casual.
