Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said Wednesday morning that he supports President Trump’s decision to fire FBI Director James Comey. McConnell says new investigation will only impede current work on Russia investigations. “Today we’ll no doubt hear calls for a new investigation, which could only serve to impede the current work being done,” McConnell said, on the floor, as Democrats gathered to slam Trump’s decision. Sen. Chuck Schumer also spoke Wednesday, condemning Trump’s choices and calling for a special prosecutor.
