Could the GOP be slackening its opposition to financial reform? After weeks of accusing Democrats of supporting unlimited taxpayer bailouts for Wall Street banks, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell struck a more conciliatory tone on Tuesday, saying that "both parties agree on this point: no bailouts. In my view, that's a pretty good start." McConnell urged lawmakers to move beyond “personal attacks and questioning each other’s motives” to “fixing the problems in the bill.” Hopefully he owns a mirror.
