The Wall Street Journal says that a deal may be in the works in Florida to get the Democratic Senate candidate, Kendrick Meek, to drop out of the race—thereby providing a huge boost to Independent candidate Charlie Crist. Meek’s polling in the teens and is almost out of money. Crist, meanwhile, has been targeting Democratic voters. However, the Journal’s language is careful: While it says Republican leaders are “fretting” over such a deal, it does not confirm that the deal exists.
