First Lady Melania Trump urged voters to support President Donald Trump’s agenda and to “help prove that the Democrats and media are wrong” in a Saturday fundraising email, NBC News reports. “Democrats and the opposition media are doing everything they possibly can to discredit Donald with false accusations by spreading their fake news and making it appear that he does not have the support of America’s voter,” she wrote in the email, sent out by the Republican National Committee just before the 2018 midterm elections. “This is a battle we must win together. I’m asking you and other Americans across the country to personally register your support and help prove that the Democrats and media are wrong.” The first lady has attacked the press before, telling ABC News in an October interview the media “sometimes... goes too far” when telling #MeToo stories of assault or harassment. “The way they portray some stories, it’s not correct. It’s not right,” she said.
