Germany and France to the rescue? German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy will meet in Berlin on Sunday to discuss the European financial crisis. Much of the discussion will cover Greece, which could run out of money by mid-November. The German finance minister said, “There is a high risk that this crisis further escalates and broadens.” The pair will also discuss how to recapitalize Europe’s banks, a topic over which the two currently disagree. President Barack Obama urged the pair to “act fast” and said that Europe’s crisis is hindering a U.S. recovery.
