Major League Baseball on Friday announced that the Mets’ Jenrry Mejia will be banned from playing due to his use of performance-enhancing drugs. Mejia tested positive for Boldenone, an anabolic steroid. This is the first time a player has failed a third drug test, which means expulsion from the league. Mejia can apply for the lifting of the lifetime ban in one year, but even if his appeal were to be granted, he must miss at least two years before he can play again.
