Michael Bloomberg May Spoof Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark

Add Mayor Michael Bloomberg to the list of people making jokes about Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Sources close to Bloomberg said Thursday that the mayor plans on spoofing the troubled musical at the Inner Circle charity dinner Saturday. The dinner will feature skits performed by the City Hall press corps and Bloomberg, who has not confirmed he will be spoofing Spider-Man, since he likes to keep his plans top-secret. Sources said the mayor plans on flying from the balcony to the stage at the Hilton New York’s grand ballroom. The Inner Circle dinner has a long history of politicians spoofing Broadway: in 1997, Rudy Giuliani famously performed in drag with Julie Andrews in a parody of Victor/Victoria.
