The special counsel representing the Michigan attorney general's office investigation into the Flint water crisis said that there could be criminal charges in the case. “We’re here to investigate what possible crimes there are, anything to the involuntary manslaughter or death that may have happened to some young person or old person because of this poisoning, to misconduct in office,” counsel Todd Flood said. “We take this very seriously.” The timeline for the investigation is unclear at this time but both state and local government officials will come under scrutiny.
