Susan Hedman, the Environmental Protection Agency director overseeing an area in Michigan that includes Flint, stepped down Thursday as the lead-contamination water crisis in the city has continued unabated. The EPA also announced an emergency order Thursday requiring the state and city to take “immediate steps to address the drinking water contamination in Flint.”
