The American woman and her husband who were taken hostage while backpacking in Afghanistan in October 2012 have finally been freed after five years. Thirty-one-year-old Caitlan Coleman and her 34-year-old Canadian husband, Josh Boyle, have been released from a Taliban faction that kidnapped them and were in Pakistan early Thursday, The New York Times reported. Coleman was pregnant at the time she was captured and has had two more children while in Afghanistan. According to the Times, the White House plans to release a statement as soon as the couple is in U.S. custody.
