Sesame Street is literally taking it to the streets. On Nov. 3—just three days before the presidential election—a puppet-based protest called the “Million Muppet March” will charge its way down the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The demonstration is an effort to defend PBS from possible extinction after Mitt Romney’s controversial quip at the presidential debate that he would cut funding for the network, despite his love of Big Bird. The two men organizing the march were previously strangers, but discovered each other after one purchased the url millionmuppetmarch.com and the other coincidentally started a Facebook page by the same name.
