Do you have enough fireworks and fortune cookies ready? Millions of people around the world are getting everything in order for the Lunar New Year, or Chinese New Year, which begins on Sunday. The most important holiday in much of Asia, the new Year of the Snake will begin with Sunday’s new moon. About 200 million people have traveled across China to be with their families for the holiday in what is likely the biggest mass human migration on the planet, for the most part emptying big cities of manual laborers. So put up those red and gold decorations and make a bowl of lucky rice-noodle soup: Sunday’s going to be a big one.
