The budget crisis that has crippled Minnesota for more than two weeks will soon be over. Gov. Mark Dayton, a Democrat, agreed to deal with Republicans late last week, and legislators will return to Minneapolis to approve the deal that will close the $5 billion deficit. The shutdown—one of the longest government shutdowns in American history—crippled state services and even dried out some of the state’s bars. State employees will go back to their jobs soon after legislators pass fast-tracked legislation and Dayton signs it.
