The state of Minnesota has officially legalized Sunday liquor sales, after eight decades of a ban on such sales. The new law, signed Tuesday afternoon by Gov. Mark Dayton, overturned a longstanding ban that prevented stores from selling alcohol on Sundays. The law pased Minnesota's House and Senate with overwhelming bipartisan support. “This new law reflects the desires of most people in Minnesota, who have made it clear to their legislators that they want to have this additional option,” Dayton said. The law will take effect July 2.
