We have a winner: Jimena Navarrete, 22, of Guadalajara, Mexico, beat out 83 contestants to win this year's Miss Universe contest. The stunning brunette donned a flowing red dress and stressed family values. Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillipps took the title of first runner up, and Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell was named second runner-up. In response to Olympic figure skater Evan Lysacek’s question regarding her thoughts on unsupervised Internet use, Navarrete responded: "I do believe that Internet is an indispensable, necessary tool for the present time... We must be sure to teach them the values that we learned as a family." This is the second time a Miss Mexico has won the contest.
