Mitt: Jerusalem Capital of Israel

Despite the fact that many nations, including the U.S., have embassies in Tel Aviv, Mitt Romney declared Jerusalem the capital of Israel on Sunday. It wasn’t another Mitt slip. The presumptive Republican nominee has toed the line while discussing American foreign policy on his trip abroad, coming within kissing distance of outright criticism of President Obama. Romney’s comments at his speech Sunday drew a standing ovation from the crowd, which included such legged checkbooks as American casino magnate and top donor Sheldon Adelson. Romney also took aim at Iran, firing a shot over the Islamic Republic’s bow when he said that the “ayatollahs in Iran are testing our moral defenses.”
