That’s what he told Fox News Tuesday morning, attempting to stem the backlash from his remarks in Israel yesterday, in which he pinned the ”dramatically stark difference in economic vitality” between Israel and the Palestinian territories on cultural differences between the groups. The comment was met with outrage by those who argued Romney was ignoring the fact that Israeli policies, including its ongoing occupation of Palestinian territory, contribute to that divide. Romney also penned an opinion piece in the National Review saying "what exactly accounts for prosperity if not culture?"
