This Modern Family is pretty dysfunctional. Cast Members Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, and Sofia Vergara are suing the producer of the popular ABC comedy, 20th Century Television, in an attempt to void their contracts. The actor’s suit claims that the contracts violate California’s ‘7 Year Rule’—which governs the maximum length of certain types of agreements. At issue are ongoing salary disputes, since the rule is often used to justify lawsuits during such standoffs. The fourth season, which was supposed to start today, has been delayed by the disagreements.
