Monopoly Includes Cash in Special Sets

Dreams do come true—for the French. Marking the 80th anniversary of Monopoly’s debut in France, manufacturer Hasbro secretly swapped in real cash for at least 80 lucky buyers beginning Monday. Each special edition set will vary in which notes are replaced with real money. One winner will land $23,268, with all the bills replaced, while 10 sets will include five real 20-euro notes, two 50-euro notes, and one 100-euro note. The remaining 69 sets will have have five 10-euro notes and five 20-euro notes. The 80 boxes are hidden within 30,000 boxes of different types of game including classic, junior, electronic, and “vintage” across the country, the company said.
