Not a happy New Year in Tehran: Iranian opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi broke his silence on Friday, saying on his Web site that “Iran is in serious crisis.” “I am not afraid to die for people’s demands,” Mousavi wrote. Iran’s police chief has warned Mousavi’s followers that they will face harsh treatment for their “illegal” rallies, and on Tuesday a representative of the Ayatollah Khamenei said opposition leaders were “enemies of God” who should be executed under Islamic law.
