Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is expected to announce that he will not run for re-election in a recorded statement on Tuesday, according to Al Arabiya television. He will, however, say that he plans to serve out the remainder of his term in order to address the issues raised by protesters. The New York Times says Obama urged Mubarak to step down. Mubarak's term expires this coming September. The network also reported that Vice President Omar Suleiman has begun meeting with leaders from the opposition.
