The trial of former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak has been postponed until a decision is made on whether to change the panel presiding over the case, lawyers on the case said Saturday. The trial had been set to resume on Sunday, but the judicial panel must now either hold a session to adjourn the trial while the defendants remain in prison or postpone it through administrative means. Lawyers for the families of those killed in uprisings earlier this year requested changes to the panel because it did not give them enough time to question Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, who heads the Army council currently in charge of Egypt. A new group of judges must now be appointed to consider the demand. The panel had previously been postponed due to questions regarding the background of Judge Ahmed Refaat, who heads it.
