Rupert Murdoch’s venture into social networking will soon be over: News Corp has put MySpace on the block, and half a dozen private equity firms and companies will submit bids this week, according to All Things Digital. Reuters said all the bidders are expected to value MySpace at more than $100 million, which is still just a fraction of the $580 million News Corp paid for MySpace in 2005.
