Sarah Palin may not have vanquished one of her hometown foes just yet: Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski, who lost the Republican primary to Tea Party insurgent Joe Miller, is planning a write-in campaign to keep her seat in November. “Write in her name and fill in the oval,” an email from a Murkowski supporter says. “We plan to make the history.” The only senator to have won a write-in campaign was Strom Thurmond in 1954. Calling herself "one Republican woman who won't quit on Alaska" (a thinly-veiled jab at Palin), Murkowski made her announcement in Anchorage on Friday night. She has also informed the Republican party that she will be resigning from her leadership roles due to their continued support for Miller.
