An Illinois nanny has been charged with two counts of falsifying a police report after telling police she saw men fitting the description of two of three Fox Lake police shooting suspects in a nearby town. Kristin Kiefer said a black man and a white man approached her in the village of Volo and tried to steal her car, only to run off into a cornfield when she pulled out her cellphone. The report triggered a five-hour search in the area using helicopters and canine units.
