Could NATO be next up for an International Criminal Court investigation? Some NATO members are worried that that's the case after the court's prosecutor said the allegations of crimes committed by the organization in Libya would be examined "impartially and independently.” Diplomats at NATO headquarters say they will likely conduct an internal investigation in an attempt to pre-empt one by the war-crimes court. NATO maintains that the airstrikes were precise, never targeted civilians, and fall under the U.N. Security Council resolution that authorized “all necessary measures to protect civilians” in Libya.
