What is this, high school? A high-ranking Navy officer and a top sailor were fired on Friday in connection with a hazing incident involving 19 female sailors. According to the investigation, the women were forced to take human waste out of two nonworking toilets, place it in buckets, and 13 of them were then marched down to a pier to dispose of the waste in portable toilets, many of them without proper protective equipment. Cmdr. Kenneth Rice, executive officer of the USS Jason Dunham, and Master Chief Petty Officer Stephen Vandergrifft, who marched the women to the pier, were found guilty in non-judicial proceedings, according to a statement from the U.S. Fleet Forces Command.
