Sports fans better savor the great World Series. The NBA season continues to shrink, with Commissioner David Stern now canceling all games through Nov. 30. “We held out that joint hope together,” said Sterns as negotiations collapsed once again. "But in light of the breakdown of talks, there will not be a full NBA season under any circumstances.” The league is insisting on splitting basketball-related income 50-50 with the players, but the players say they won't accept less than 52.5 percent. The difference equals about $100 million annually, but the owners are set to lose hundreds of millions this year with the cancellation of the preseason and the first month of the regular season. Still, Stern says the union shouldn't expect a better offer.
