On Monday, the NBA took the first steps towards officially stripping Donald Sterling of his Los Angeles Clippers ownership. Sterling was charged with damaging the league with his racist comments and impairing relationships with fans and merchandising partners. "All of these acts provide grounds for termination under several provisions of the NBA constitution and related agreements," the league said in a statement. The NBA Board of Governors will hold a hearing on June 3. Sterling will have a chance to respond to the charge by May 27. If three-fourths of the governors sustains the charges, Sterling, who has already been banned by the NBA, will have his entire ownership interest in the Clippers terminated.
