Netanyahu Runs the Gantlet

How many Democratic bigwigs does it take to prevail on Israeli Prime Minster Benjamin Netanyahu? On the heels of his speech at AIPAC—in which he refused to halt settlement construction in Jerusalem—Netanyahu met with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Tuesday, and was booked for a meeting with President Obama later in the day. Obama’s meeting with Netanyahu will be closed to reporters—the Associated Press calls it “an unusual choice when hosting a close ally and a sign that suggested the rift may not be entirely healed.”
