Now that Netflix has officially beaten Blockbuster, the company is taking the next step toward eliminating DVDs. Netflix announced Monday that it will now offer streaming-only prices, allowing users to pay a lower rate for access to the company's popular movie streaming website as long as they aren't getting any DVDs in the mail. The streaming-only service will cost $7.99 per month, while the rate for its one-at-a-time DVD-by-mail service will increase from $8.99 to $9.99. Earlier this year, Netflix signed a $1 billion deal with Paramount Pictures, MGM, and Lionsgate to expand its archives of movies and television available for streaming.
