Nevada Mayor Investigated for Child Porn

The mayor of North Las Vegas, Nevada, is reportedly under federal investigation for having what officially said is child pornography on his iPad. A recently retired police chief reports Mayor John Lee told him in October that “he had an issue with kiddie porn popping up on his computer.” According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, a police detective says the mayor told him links to porn appeared on his device and he wanted them gone, and, upon investigating and being unable to verify the ages of people in photos, the detective had it wiped clean. The mayor denies approaching the detective about this issue. A police investigation found insufficient grounds for prosecution, a department spokesman said, but the FBI is reportedly taking over. The FBI did not comment on the case.
