Headed by TARP inspector general.

More heat on Timothy Geithner: Neil Barofsky, the inspector general of the TARP program, is set to tell a House panel on Wednesday that he is going to investigate the government’s rescue of AIG. Barofsky will look for "misconduct relating to the disclosure or lack thereof” in the deal, brokered by the New York Fed, that repaid banks in full for sour investments and then appears to have been covered up by Fed officials. Geithner, who headed the New York Fed at the time, will testify before the House on Wednesday.
