A new Taliban video shows a man who seems to be the only known American serviceman currently held captive in Afghanistan. Spc. Bowe Bergdahl of Hailey, Idaho, disappeared in Paktika province on June 30, 2009. A month later, Taliban commander Mawlavi Sangin, who also appears in the video, threatened to kill Berdgdahl unless the U.S. stops strikes in parts of Ghazni and Paktika provinces. It’s unclear when the video was made, and Bergdahl appears only briefly in it, looking thin and with an abrasion on his left cheek bone.
