Gender Gap

Newt Not Popular With the Ladies

Perhaps female Republicans are starting to wise up to Newt Gingrich's womanizing ways. New polls out of Florida show that Mitt Romney's lead over the former speaker of the House is significantly bigger among women voters. According to a Wall Street Journal poll, 57 percent of women over the age of 50 see Gingrich in a negative light. But the candidate, asked about this gender gap, said he has "no idea" why it exists. It's not just the fact that he notoriously left two of his wives for other women while they were suffering from life-threatening illnesses that turns female voters off. "I really resented the way, when he was asked a question, he would attack the moderator," said one Florida woman, explaining why she supports Romney over Gingrich.
