Lockout could begin at midnight.

We could know by Friday morning whether or not there will be a 2011 football season: Owners and players have an 11:59 p.m. Thursday bargaining deadline and owners could lock out players as soon as one minute later. NFL players are expected to decertify their union and seek an injunction against the lockout. At issue is owners’ desire to extend the NFL season to 18 games and impose a wage scale for rookies.
