NFL’s Frank Gifford Had CTE When He Died

According to a family statement.

Former NFL player Frank Gifford, who died earlier this year, had chronic traumatic encephalopathy, according to a statement released Wednesday by his family. CTE, as its commonly referred to, is a result of years of consecutive hits to the head, a byproduct of playing football. It was reported that Gifford died of natural causes at the age of 84.
