In seven years, you may well be able to safely fall asleep at the wheel. Nissan will release self-driving vehicles by 2020. Having accomplished its goal of creating zero-emission vehicles by 2010, Nissan’s CEO said the company is working with several universities around the world—from MIT to the University of Tokyo—to develop technology for “Autonomous Drive.” Of course, Google is also working separately on developing autonomous-driving vehicles and testing them, though the tech giant has not set a date when they'll be on the market.
